It's Always Phishing Season

What do you think about when you receive an email out of the blue asking for verification? The reality is this email is an attempt to capture your email credentials - otherwise known as a phishing attack.
How do you know this? If you hover your mouse pointer over links in the email body, without clicking, you will see a snippet of a destination URL. This destination may look very similar to a legitimate website such as one that is used to verify domains.
For example, the link may be to the URL verifymyemail.ml. The real website is www.verify-email.org, which will not ask for a password.
Here are a few steps to follow to avoid phishing attacks:
1. Mouse pointer hover – DO NOT CLICK
2. Contact the sender to confirm they have sent you an email
3. Delete email
4. Empty Deleted Items folder
