
Thomas Ditrano, PMP
Managing Director, Security Technology
Mr. Ditrano applies his extensive technical background and expertise in large-scale project management to help Insite’s clients deploy advanced security systems and effective IT security practices. His unique perspective is grounded in years of developing and managing physical and logical security solutions and his extensive experience in critical incident response and resolution. Mr. Ditrano’s expertise spans network and server security, database information management, video surveillance technologies and application development. He has particularly deep experience in access control systems, physical credentialing and is an expert on Lenel and Genetec systems, and smart card RFID and biometric technologies.
Prior to Insite, Mr. Ditrano held the rank of Inspector and served as the NYPD Commanding Officer of the Information Technology Services Division, where he was responsible for the technological transformation and modernization of their internal systems. While at the NYPD, he upgraded physical access control systems to add high levels of encryption, auditing and anti-counterfeiting technologies, and he led the development of a mobile application utilizing Bluetooth Low Energy secure communication, which has revolutionized security at large scale events. He holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Marist College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Molloy College. Mr. Ditrano is a member of ASIS International and the Project Management Institute and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He also holds certifications from National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) and New York City’s Citywide Incident Management Systems (CIMS).
