A global financial services firm establishing a new headquarters wanted employees to badge in with their phones instead of physical cards, both at the building's base-building turnstiles and at the firm's own suite-level entrances, with access provisioned automatically as employees joined, changed roles, or left the company.
Insite mapped the full credential chain required to make this work. Our team aligned the firm's HR system to feed an identity provider automated joiner, mover, and leaver events. Single sign-on and automated provisioning protocols connected that identity provider to the access control platform.
The design also had to reconcile two separate reader ecosystems at the same entrance, the location’s base-building system and the firm's own tenant-side access control platform, each needing to recognize the same mobile credential without duplicating provisioning work. Insite worked through open questions with each stakeholder, including which wiring protocol the base-building and tenant readers should standardize on, and where a step in the credential pipeline still relied on manual synchronization rather than an automated feed, flagging both as risks to resolve before going live.
The result was a documented system design, mapping every integration point, protocol, and hand-off between identity, credential, and physical hardware layers, giving the firm's IT, security, and building stakeholders a single reference for how the mobile credential program was meant to function end to end.
